If this feature continues to cause problems, you can disable the automatic detection
of Windows CE devices by performing the following:
1. Use the Tools Option menu command in Microsoft Visual Studio. The Options
dialog box opens.
2. Select the Device Tools Devices item from the tree structure.
3. Click on the Properties button. The Device Properties dialog box opens.
4. Deselect the Detect when device is disconnected option.
❖ Note that Microsoft Visual Studio expects to use TCP/IP in its communications
with your smart camera. A program trying to use the IPX or SPX network
protocols (such as a third-party netware client) from the development computer
can interfere with the proper running of the Microsoft Visual Studio remote tools,
as well as with the transfer of your application from the development computer
to your Matrox Iris GT. If problems persist, try disabling your third-party netware
clients.

Executing an application

There are two ways to execute your application: remotely from within Microsoft
Visual Studio on your development computer or directly on your Matrox Iris GT.
To execute your application remotely, select the Debug Start Debugging or the
Debugging Start Without Debug menu command. For more information on
building and transferring your application, refer to the Building an application
subsection and the Manually transferring an application subsection, earlier in this
section.
To execute your application directly from your Matrox Iris GT, perform the
following:
1. On your development computer, open a command prompt window and type the
following at the prompt:
telnet IrisName
A welcome message appears, followed by the telnet prompt.
