4-7 CAP HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT (Referential Time : 5min.)
CAP HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT is to adjust the height of the cap.
This adjustment is required when the cap unit is removed or replaced.
Without this adjustment, the CAP EVACUATION* may not be performed properly.
* CAP EVACUATION is an operation of ink evacuation with the Heads uncapped. This removes the ink
accumulated on the Cap surfaces.
For this adjustment, the Head height can either be HIGH or LOW. When it is adjusted with one of the
Head heights, the setting for the other height is also changed automatically.
Always use the UV protection sheet
While in service mode, the menu which involves a motion of Head UP/DOWN holds and keeps the head carriage at the
very top position, where the menu does not proceed any further.
By following the below steps, the base height position for service menu is set so that the menu can proceed.
The base height is preserved while in service mode, but once the service mode fi nishes, it is released. So, it must be set
again for the next time in service mode.
1.Select [I/S MENU] > [I/S CONTROL] > [HEAD UP/DOWN]
> [MIDDLE], and press [ENTER] key to move down the Head
Carriage.
2.Select [I/S MENU] > [I/S CONTROL] > [CAP] > [CLOSE], and
press
[ENTER] key to move the Capping Unit up1 step.
Then press the [ENTER] key 2 times to Cap the Heads with
adjusting the position of the Head Carriage.
during this adjustment, or ink will harden and clog inside the ink line.
