Preliminary note (to the user)
Explain the following items before operating the unit.
Interlock Function
!! IMPORTANT !!
The safety against the UV light is assured for users having the UV light shielding measures in the
apertural area and the interlock feature that cuts off the UV light when the front cover is opened.
Never disable the front cover sensor.
Ink Cartridge Cover
!! IMPORTANT !!
Always keep the ink cartridge cover closed, except when it is necessary to be opened for replacement of
ink cartridge.
The ink cartridge cover prevents direct sunlight or illumination. If the ink cartridges receive direct sunlight,
the ink is solidi ed to cause some clogging problems.
Preliminary note (to the Service Technician)
The in uence of UV light from the UV lamp on the eye.
!! IMPORTANT !!
Looking directly at the UV light may result in a serious eye injury such as "UV keratitis", "pterygium" or
"cataract". Be sure to wear the UV-proof goggles to protect the eyes when performing the maintenance
operations of the machine.
The in uence of the volatilized UV ink on the eye, nose, and throat.
!! IMPORTANT !!
The volatilized UV ink may stimulate the eye, nose, and throat. Be sure to wear the UV-proof goggles
and antibromic mask if you replace the head wearing the light shielding curtain. It is recommended
to wear the goggles and antibromic mask, because the symptoms vary between individuals and work
hours.
The in uence of UV ink on the skin.
!! IMPORTANT !!
It is recommended to wear the gloves when performing the maintenance operations of the machine.
In the event of contacting with the eyes, immediately ush with water for at least 15 minutes. If eye
irritation continues, seek treatment by a physician.
