Install the external modem

The U.S. Robotics external modem is the recommended external modem.
DEFINITY ONE systems operate with this modem set to factory default settings.
NOTE:
You may use a locally obtained, type-approved external modem (33.6 Kbps
or higher and V.34 protocol). Contact your Avaya representative for more
information.
!
WARNING:
If you use a modem other than the U.S. Robotics modem, it must be
configured in Windows.
1. Use the hardware provided with the modem. See
1-78. If top-mounting MDFs, mount the external modem to the plywood in a
location which allows the standard connection to the modem cable.
2. Route the modem cable (P2) from the Processor Interface Cable through
the cable trough and to the modem.
3. Connect the cable to the modem. See
pinout of the modem cable.
4. Plug the modem power cord into an electrical outlet and turn on the
modem.
