Converter seal: Removal - Refitting

a Remove the converter (1) .
II - REMOVAL OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Remove the converter seal (2) using a screwdriver,
taking care not to scratch the input shaft splines.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATIONS OPERATION
a Always replace the converter seal with a new seal.
AUTOMATIC GEARBOX

a Check and clean the converter seal mating face on
the gearbox.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit the new converter seal using the tool from the
kit (Bvi. 1804).
III - FINAL OPERATION.
a Refit the converter.
a Check the distance X using a ruler. The distance
must be a minimum of 20.5 mm.
a Refit:
- the automatic gearbox (see 23A, Automatic gear-
box, Automatic gearbox: Removal - Refitting,
page 23A-6) ,
