REMOVING THE PARTICLE FILTER
UPSTREAM TEMPERATURE SENSOR
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
a Position the vehicle on a two-post lift (see Vehicle:
Towing and lifting) (MR 415, 02A, Lifting equip-
ment).
a Remove:
- the engine undertray bolts,
- the engine undertray,
- the particle filter (see 19B, Exhaust, Particle fil-
ter: Removal - Refitting, page 19B-71) .

a Remove the particle filter upstream temperature
sensor (1) .
REFITTING THE PARTICLE FILTER
UPSTREAM TEMPERATURE SENSOR
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a Torque tighten the particle filter upstream temper-
ature sensor adapter union (44 N.m) if it has been
replaced.

Note:
Use an open-jawed spanner to hold the adapter
union in place and prevent it from loosening. Any
adapter union that is loosened must be replaced.
Note:
The par ticle filter temperature sensor adapter
union is not available separately.
If the sensor is being replaced, also remove the
adapter union; if not, separate the sensor from its
union, holding the union with a lock wrench.
