Automatic gearbox: Removal - Refitting

a Remove the converter nuts (4) via the starter open-
ing.
a Remove the engine - gearbox assembly from the
(Mot. 1390) using a workshop hoist.
a Remove:
- the automatic transmission bell housing nuts and
bolts,
- the automatic transmission using another work-
shop hoist.

REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATIONS OPERATION
a Check:
- the distance X with a ruler. The distance must be a
minimum of 20.5 mm,
- the condition of the drive plate and crown wheel vi-
sually.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a
Note:
Before fitting the gearbox to the engine, position
the converter bolts opposite the holes on the
drive plate.
a Refit:
- the gearbox to the engine,
- the gearbox bell housing nuts and bolts,
- the converter nuts,
- the engine - gearbox assembly on the (Mot. 1390).
a Torque tighten:
- the gearbox bell housing nuts and bolts (44
Nm),
- the converter nuts (44 Nm).
