The Tune window Ion Mode menu

The Ion Mode menu is used to select the required ionization mode and update
the Tune window Source tab to that mode.
You cannot change the ion mode while the instrument is in operate.
Note:
Before changing the ion mode, switch the instrument to standby.
To select the ionization mode:
1.
In the MassLynx Tune window, click
adjacent instrument status indicator shows red.
2.
In the Ion Mode menu, click the required ionization mode.
The current ionization mode has a check mark next to it.
Tip:

The Tune window Vacuum menu

The Vacuum menu is used to:
Monitor the instrument vacuum.
Pump-down (evacuate) the instrument, analyzer, and source.
Vent the instrument, analyzer, and source.

Pumping/venting the analyzer

To pump the analyzer:
In the MassLynx Tune window, click Vacuum > Pump Analyzer.
The analyzer begins to pump down.
Result:
To vent the analyzer:
In the MassLynx Tune window, click Vacuum > Vent Analyzer.
Result:
The analyzer begins to vent.
