Connect the CI gas supply to the CI gas connector on the rear of the
instrument.

Allow the backing pirani read back to reach 1.00e-2 mbar. If this cannot
be achieved note the read back. (Sometimes a minor amount of
condensation within the line prevents attaining the required pressure.)

Detector maintenance

Conditioning the detector

The detector must be conditioned before use. You condition the detector by
gradually increasing an applied voltage over a period of time.
Caution:
vented. Failure to follow the detector conditioning procedure will
reduce lifetime of the detector and may destroy it.
To condition the MCP detector:
1.
Ensure the analyzer and source are pumped down (evacuated). The
analyzer vacuum must be <3e-6 mbar for one hour before the
conditioning starts.
2.
In the MassLynx Tune window Source tab, ensure that the Detector
Voltage is set to 0.
