Requirements:
• You must configure the DRE magnification factors before acquiring data
in DRE mode; these factors must also be reconfigured if you change any of
the tuning parameters.

• When you are acquiring data in DRE mode, scanning at least 5 spectra
per second gives better peak shapes and more accurately represents peak
intensities.

Acquiring Data
Description
Specifies the data type (Centroid or Continuum) to be
collected and stored on disk. Centroid format is
recommended for collecting data, except when
checking data resolution.

The length of the acquisition, in minutes.
The length of each scan, in seconds.
The time between one scan's end and the next scan's
start, in seconds. MassLynx does not store data
during this time interval.
Note:
The minimum delay is 10 ms (0.01 s).
When selected, you can type a probe ramping method
(.prf) filename and path in the text box, or click
Browse to locate the file.

When selected data are acquired in the dynamic
range enhancement (DRE) mode. The dynamic range
increases to more than four orders of magnitude. Use
DRE if using stronger samples that are likely to satu-
rate the detector.
