Used to test the connectivity between network
devices.
ping <ipaddr> {times <value>}
{timeout <sec>}
This command sends Internet Control Message
Protocol (ICMP) echo messages to a remote IP
address. The remote IP address will then
"echo" or return the message. This is used to
confirm connectivity between the Switch and the
remote device.
<ipaddr> − the IP address of the remote device.
times <value 1-255> − the number of individual
ICMP echo messages to be sent. The
maximum value is 255. The default is inifinite
times (pings are sent coninuosly).
timeout <sec 1-99> − defines the time-out
period while waiting for a response from the
remote device. A value of 1 to 99 seconds can
be specified. The default is 1 second.
Only administrator-level users can issue this
command.
