Description
IGMPv2 snooping can process IGMPv1 and IGMPv2 messages, but it
floods IGMPv3 messages in the VLAN instead of processing them.
IGMPv3 snooping can process IGMPv1, IGMPv2, and IGMPv3
messages.
IMPORTANT:
If you change IGMPv3 snooping to IGMPv2 snooping, the system clears all
IGMP snooping forwarding entries that are dynamically added.
Enable or disable the IGMP snooping querier function.
On an IP multicast network that runs IGMP, a Layer 3 device acts as an IGMP
querier to send IGMP queries and establish and maintain multicast forwarding
entries, ensuring correct multicast traffic forwarding at the network layer.
On a network without Layer 3 multicast devices, IGMP querier cannot work
because a Layer 2 device does not support IGMP. To address this issue, you
can enable IGMP snooping querier on a Layer 2 device so that the device can
generate and maintain multicast forwarding entries at the data link layer,
providing IGMP querier functions.
Configure the IGMP query interval.
Specify the source IP address of general queries.
Specify the source IP address of group-specific queries.
