The sensors on the left detect B series (Metric) or Architecture (USA) sizes. The sensors
on the right detect A series (Metric) or Engineering (USA) sizes.
The original set sensor detects A4 or 8 ½" "A" size SEF originals. The original width
sensors detect the larger sizes.

6.2.4 ORIGINAL DRIVE MECHANISM

The scanner motor [A] (a stepper motor) and timing belt [B] control the original feed rollers
[C] and original exit rollers [D]. The signal from the original set sensor controls the on/off
timing.
6.2.5 ORIGINAL FEED SPEED
The speed of the original is faster if the magnification ratio is lower.
