Use

nitrogen
to

absorbttf.
The use
of an unstabl" gas can cause. fire
or
explosion resulting in
serious
injury.
The shock absorber contains nitrogen
under
high
pressure.
Do
not
allow
fire or
heat
near the shock
absorber.
Before
disposal of the shock
absorber,
,,,/e.s8
the
nitrogen
by
pressing
the
IIalve
core.
Then
remove
the
"al"e
from
the
shock
absorber,
Keep grease off of the brake pads and disc.

disc

When
servicing the rear w heel,
support
the motorcycle using a safety stand
or
hoist.

For optimum suspension performance and linkage
component
service
l
ife, the swingarm and shock linkage pivot bearings
~
(along with rela ted seals and bushings) should be disassembled, cleaned, inspected for wear and lu bricated
with
multipurpose
grease NLGI
No.2 (molybdenum
disulfide
additive) every 3
races
or
after
1.5
hours of running.
Optional
rear
wheel sprockets, drive
chain,
shock springs and
spring
preload pin spanners are available. Refer to General
Information, Section 1.
Refer to section 13 for brake
system
information.
Use genuine Honda replacement bolts and nuts for all
suspension
pivots and mounting points.
