CYLINDER HEAD
REMOVAL
Orain the radiator coola nt (page 5-4),
Remove the seat and fuel tank (page 2-2, 5),
• Gasoline

extremely flammable end is explosive
under
certllin
conditions.
• Work in
IJ
well ventilated area with the engine
stopped.
• Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks in the
work 8re8
or
where gasoline
is
stored.
Note the drfoctlon
Loosen the radiator hose clamps and remove the radi -
of the
hose
clamp.
alor hoses from the cylinder head.
Remove the spa rk plug cap and spark plug.
Remove the engine upper hanger plate bolts and
hanger plates.
Remove the five cylinder head nuts.
CAUTION:
To
avoid warping the cylinder head, use
II
crisscross
pettern
to
loosen 8ach nut about
1/4
turn in
two
or
three
steps,
then remove the nuts.
Remove the cylinder head.
Remove the cylinder head gasket.
Remove the dowel pins.
