CRANKCASE/CRANKSHAFT/TRANSMISSION
Apply transmission oil to the f ollowing parts:
- Mainshaft
- Countershaft
- Each gear
- Mainshaft bearing
- Countershaft bearing
- Shift drum bearing
Engage the mainshaft and countershaft gears and
place the t ransmission assemb l y Into the right
crankcase.
Install the shift forks into the shifter gear grooves.
NOTE:
Each shift fork has an identification mark, uR"
(three marks) is for the right shift fork,
uL" is
the
left shift fork and
uC n
is for the center shift fork.
Face the sh i ft fork ma r ks as toward the left
crankcase.
All marks face left crankcase.
Apply transm ission oil to the following parts:
- Shift drum guide grooves
- Shift fork claws and guide pins
- Shift fork sl iding surfaces
- Shift fork shaft
Install the shift forks to the grooves of the shifter
gear.
Install the shift drum by aligning the guide pins on
the shift forks with the guide grooves of the shift
drum.
Slide the shift fork shafts through the shift forks,
and into the crankcase.
