Now, use the
other
screwdriver to
p
ull the stop ring
completely
out.
NOTE
:
Check t
he stop ri ng groove
f or
bu rrs.
Rem
ove any
burrs with
t
he fi
ne
emery
clot
h before pull ing the
damper rod out of the
case.
Hold the shock
absorber
in a vise protected with
shop
t
owel or
soft
jaws.
Using a suitable squeeze bottle, fill the reservoi
r
with
the recommended shock oil.
RECOMMENDED SHOCK
Oil:
Pro·Honda
HP
Fork
Oil5W
Slowly pump the damper rod unti
l
no ai
r
bu bbles
appear in the valve core
hole,
then pull the damper
rod all
the
way.
Install the valve core securely.
Remove the
chamber cap
and
bladder
followi
ng
the
procedure
below:
1. Wrap the shop
towel around t
he chamber
cap.
Compress the
damper
rod
slowly,
to fo rce the
chamber cap out.
CAUTION:
The chamber cap will 1M
removed
with hydraulic
pteSSUrll $0
its
forctl
un be
signmunt considflring
the
air
in
the
bladder.
Wear protective clothing and
a
face guard
to
protect
your
eyes
and
face
in
case
the
chamber
cap
pops
out quickly and
forcibly.
2.
Place the damper in a vise with soft jaws with the
damping
adjuster
facing up, being careful
not
to
disto
rt
the dampe
r
body.
Remove the dam
p
ing
adjuster.
CAUTION:
Do
not
overtighten
the
vise.
Damage
to
the shock
body
will
result.
3.
Fill the damper with Pro-Honda
HP
Fork Oil 5W
through the damping adjuster
hole,
w hile slowly
pulling
t
he
damper
rod out.
4. Rei nsta
ll
the
da
mping adjuste
r
after fill ing t he
damper.
NOTE:
The damper
must
be kept upright to prevent oil from
leaking
out
of the
damper.
5. Place the damper with the reservoir chamber cap
facing
up.
