EXHAUST VALVE DECARBONIZING
Remove the flap valves and valve shaft (page 8· 4).
Remove the carbon deposits from the flap valves
and valve shah.
Inspect the flap valves and valve shah for wear or
damage.
NOTE :
Decarbonize the flap valves and valve shaft after
each race.
TRANSMISSION OIL

1. Start the engine and let
it
idle for 2 - 3 minutes.
2. Wait three minutes after shutting off the engine
to allow the oil to properly distribute itself in the
clutch and transmission .
3. Support the motorcycle in an upright position on
level ground.
4. Remove the oil filler cap and check bolt from the
right crankcase cover. A small amount of oi l
should flow out of the check bolt hole. Allow any
excess oil to flow out of the check bolt hole.
S. If no oil flows out of the check bolt hole, add oi l
slowly through the oil filler hole until oil starts to
flow out of the check bolt hole. Install the oil check
bolt and fi l ler cap.
6. Repeat steps' - 4.
7. After checking the oil level or adding oil, tighten
the oil check bolt and filler cap securely.
TORQUE: 10 N·m 11 .0 kgf. m. 7Ibf.ft)
TRANSMISSION Oil CHANGE
NOTE :
Transmission oil should be changed at least every
3
races or
7.5 hours of running to ensure con -
sistent performance and maximum service life of
both transmission and clutch components.
Warm-up the engine before draining the oil. This
will ensu res complete and rapid draining.
