Portal services
Introduction
The following procedure is the recommended method for shutting down the
Portal Server and the Portal Agent Interface. Use these procedures when you
want to restart or shut down the server for any reason. If you do not use the
method provided to shut down Symposium Web Center Portal, Windows error
messages may appear.
Before you shut down your database server you must shut down the Portal
Server component.
To shut down the Portal Server
1 On the desktop, double-click the Portal Server Shutdown icon.
Result: The Portal Server shutdown DOS window appears. The Portal
Server services and processes stop.
2 Shut down the computer.
To start the Portal Server component
On the desktop, double-click the Portal Server Startup icon.
Result: The Portal Server services and processes start.
