Symposium Email Manager Memory
Management utility
Introduction
The Symposium Email Manager Memory Management utility allows you to
change the amount of memory allocated to the Email Manager.
The mechanism by which inbound e-mails are processed requires that they are
held in memory for a brief time while they are decoded and processed. This
places a limit on the maximum size of a given e-mail that is capable of being
processed.
The Email Manager has a memory manager that ensures that memory limits are
not broken. This section details how the memory manager calculates these
limits, and how to determine the maximum size e-mail supported.
Note: Large e-mail attachments may degrade the e-mail throughput.
If you want the system to receive e-mails greater than 69 Mbytes, then you must
configure the memory allocation for the e-mails. By default the system cannot
process e-mails that are greater than 69 Mbytes. For more information, refer to
"To configure the memory allocation for e-mail" on page 264.
