Installing the Portal Administrator component

Introduction
You install the Portal Administrator component on the Symposium Web Center
Portal server. You can also install it on a separate PC for remote access. For
more information about the system requirements for the Portal Administrator
client, refer to the Nortel Networks Symposium Portfolio Server and Operating
System Requirements Guide (P-2003-0381-Global) provided on the Partner
Information Center web site.
Note: The Portal Administrator component can co-reside with Symposium Call
Center Server Release 4.2 with Service Update SU09 (NS040206SU09S) (or
later) or Symposium Express Call Center Release 4.2 with Service Update SU06
(NS040206SU06S) (or later) clients.
Before you begin, ensure that you complete the steps listed in the Portal
Administrator checklist (see "Portal Administrator checklist" on page 532).
To install the Sybase Client on a standalone PC (optional)
ATTENTION

Log on to the External Web server using the Local Administrator user ID.

If the Nortel Networks Sybase Distribution CD-ROM is not in the CD-ROM
drive, insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. If the Installation program

You do not need to install the Sybase Client if you are
installing the Portal Administrator on the computer on
which you installed the Portal Server as you have already
installed it (see "Installing Sybase Adaptive Server
Enterprise and Sybase Client" on page 41). You only install
the Sybase Client on a standalone PC on which you plan to
install the Portal Administrator.
