Customizing the Customer Interface

Overview

Introduction
This appendix provides details for creating a sample application using Java
Server Pages (JSP) to test the Symposium Web Center Portal Customer
Interface. The Sample Customer Interface provides an example of how
customers can perform the following tasks:
register with the contact center
!
update registration details
!
choose a preferred call-back method
!
choose a preferred call-back time
!
submit transactions to selected skillsets
!
The application emulates a typical scenario for Symposium Web Center Portal.
This appendix provides you with information to allow you to implement the
application as it is, or to modify it to suit your needs. You can also use this
section as a starting point to write your own applications.
For more information about installing the Sample Customer Interface, refer to
"Installing the Sample Customer Interface and Web Communications
components" on page 160. For information about deploying the Customer
Interface, see "To configure Apache Tomcat for the Sample Customer Interface"
on page 167.
ATTENTION
Note: This appendix assumes that you have experience with JSP.

The information in this appendix describes customizing the
Customer Interface with Java Server Pages (JSP) and Java
business objects. When using these interfaces, you must
ensure that the Portal server is not negatively affected by
the SQL statements or excessive transaction rates through
the Java business objects.
