Configuring e-mail for Symposium Web Center Portal
Enabled: Check this box to enable the mailbox. When enabled, this
mailbox is included in the set of mailboxes from which incoming e-mail is
retrieved. If disabled, this mailbox is ignored by the retrieval process.
Disabling a mailbox is useful if the mailbox configured is an outbound
(SMTP) alias for another mailbox. In this scenario, you can configure the
alias mailbox so that it may be used for rules configuration and outbox
mapping, but disable it to prevent the alias mailbox from being included in
the mail retrieval process.
Alternate SMTP Auth Login: Check this box if you have SMTP
authentication enabled and you plan to log on to the SMTP server with a
different user name than the one you configured as the inbox name.
Note: You can use the SMTP Login when you are configuring an inbox as
an alias and it is marked as disabled. If SMTP authentication is enabled,
the SMTP server rejects the alias inbox name and, instead, you must use
the logon name of the actual mailbox. The skillsets mapped to this inbox log
on to the SMTP server using the alternate name, but they appear to come
from the same inbox.
SMTP Auth Login: Type the SMTP server logon name.
Note: You can have inboxes on more than one e-mail server. Each e-mail
server is polled for the mailboxes that it hosts.
POP3 Server: Ensure that the host name of your POP3 server is selected.
SMTP Server: Ensure that the host name of your SMTP server is selected.
Note: When the Email Manager starts, it looks to the POP3 host for the
mailbox. The outbound e-mail is sent through the specified SMTP host.
5 Click Save.
6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each new mailbox.
