Space requirements for the Migration Utility
Before you start the migration, ensure that your system meets the space
requirements for the following files:
Space for the migration log files—approximately 250 kbytes.
!
Space for the migration BCP files—these files contain the data and can be
!
very large. (The size of these files depends on the number and size of the
existing transactions. The size is usually estimated at 8 Mbytes per 1000
transactions.)
Space for the attachment files—the same amount of space as is currently
!
used by the attachments.
Note: The required space does not need to exist on the server in question as long
as it is accessible using a share. However, if you are using a shared location to
store the data it may slow down the migration process.
