Configuring Symposium Web Center Portal for e-mail and telephony integration

Network configuration

Introduction
This section provides an overview of Symposium Web Center Portal in a
networked environment.
When Symposium Web Center Portal Release 4.0 is set up in a networked
environment, it connects to a single Symposium Call Center Server node
(referred to as the Primary node in this document) in the system. You can use
network multimedia skillsets to route contacts to agents across the network from
this node. Any of the Symposium Call Center Server nodes may be designated
as the Primary node, except for the Network Control Center (NCC).
Note: When Symposium Web Center Portal is connected to a network, it still
behaves largely as though connected to a single standalone node.
Networking requirements
For Symposium Web Center Portal to work in a networked environment, the
following assumptions are made:
Symposium Web Center Portal is configured and operational with a single
!
Symposium Call Center Server site. The Symposium Call Center Server to
which it is connected becomes the Primary node.
The Symposium Call Center Server network and associated Meridian 1/
!
Succession 1000 trunking is configured and operational.
The IP Network is configured so that Windows clients at remote nodes can
!
access the Portal server at the Primary node.
A TAPI server is configured and operational at each of the Symposium Call
!
Center Server nodes that will have multimedia agents.
The agents must have logon IDs that are unique across the network.
!
You must complete the following tasks to set up Symposium Web Center Portal
in a call center network:
