If you want the LDAP service to poll the LDAP server every specified
!
polling interval, you must check the Enabled checkbox.
If you do not want the service to poll the LDAP server, you must clear
!
the checkbox. The Address Book will not be updated with any changes
that occur on the mail server.
7
Perform one of the following tasks:
If you are using any mail server other than MS Exchange 2000, you
!
must leave the User Name and Password boxes blank.
If you are using the MS Exchange 2000 Mail server, you must type a
!
user name and password for the LDAP server using LDAP syntax. The
user name must be a valid user on the mail server.
8
Nortel Networks recommends that you leave the Search Base Value box
blank; the Address Book uses the default value to search from the root
node of the LDAP server.
9
Keep the default value in the Size Limit box. You do not need to set the size
limit on the Address Book client. You may need to configure the settings on
your e-mail server to change the number of returned records it will permit.
Example: Exchange 5.5 allows 100 records to be returned to the LDAP
client by default. If the client looks for more records than it is allowed, no
records are returned. If you set this server side parameter to 0, the server
allows all records to be returned.
10
In the Time Limit (Seconds) box, enter the maximum time in seconds
allowed for a search.
Note: A value of 0 in this box indicates that there is no limit set.
11
In the Polling Interval (Hours) box, enter the time in hours that the LDAP
service, on the Portal Agent Interface computer, polls the e-mail server for
addresses.
Note: The Scope box is set to SUBTREE.
12
Click Save.

Example: CN=Bob Simpson,CN=Users,DC=exchange,
DC=nortelnetworks,DC=com
The password in the example above is the simple text password that
you entered when you configured the user (such as Bob Simpson) on
the e-mail server.
