23.2 Controlling Car Behavior by Linking with the Horn Alert Port State (Horn Alert)

• The Horn Alert port functions according to the configuration for the Horn Alert Logic Signal. (Refer to

• While the state of the Ignition Sense port is High, the Horn Alert port is not be activated even if the transceiver receives a call.

Conditions to Activate the Horn Alert
The conditions for activating Horn Alert varies in a Conventional Group, LTR Trunking system and NXDN Trunking system.
Conventional Group
The conditions to activate the Horn Alert in a Conventional Group are as follows. The conditions vary between analog and
digital (NXDN) as below.
Table 23-1 Conditions to Activate the Horn Alert (Conventional Group)

• If the received Optional Signaling matches the Optional Signaling preconfigured for the transceiver while Horn
Conventional Alert is enabled
Group (Analog) • If the transceiver receives a Paging Call while Horn Alert is enabled
• If the transceiver receives FleetSync Status 89 regardless of the Horn Alert configuration
• If the received Optional Signaling matches the Optional Signaling preconfigured for the transceiver while Horn
Alert is enabled
• If the transceiver receives a Paging Call while Horn Alert is enabled
Conventional
• If the transceiver receives Horn Alert Status regardless of the Horn Alert configuration
Group (NXDN)

Horn Alert Status can be configured using KPG-111D/ DN. (
LTR Trunking System
Using KPG-111D/ DN, the LTR Trunking system can be configured to enable or disable Horn Alert for each Group ID.
 If Horn Alert is configured for the Horn Alert key or Menu Mode:
One of the following conditions must be satisfied to activate the Horn Alert:
• If Horn Alert is enabled by pressing the Horn Alert key or selecting "Horn Alert" from Menu Mode
• If "Start Up" is configured for Horn Alert Mode using KPG-111D/ DN
If one of the above conditions is satisfied, Horn Alert is activated under the following conditions:
• If the received Group ID matches the Group ID preconfigured for the transceiver while "None" is configured for
Optional Signaling of the preconfigured Group ID and Horn Alert is enabled as well.
• If the received Group ID and Optional Signaling match the Group ID and Optional Signaling preconfigured for
the transceiver, while "DTMF" or "FleetSync" is configured for Optional Signaling of the preconfigured Group
ID and Horn Alert is enabled as well. However, "FleetSync" must be configured for Optional Signaling to make
a Paging Call.
• If the Fix ID with Horn Alert enabled matches the received Group ID.
