Figure 30. Installing the light path diagnostics panel
To install the light path diagnostics panel, which is shown in Figure 30, complete the following steps:
Procedure
1. Read the Safety topic and the "Installation guidelines" on page 29.
2. Shut down the operating system on all partitions of the compute node, turn off the compute node,
and remove the compute node from the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis. See "Removing the
compute node from an IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis" on page 31.
3. Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, with the cover side up.
4. Open and remove the compute node cover. See "Removing the compute node cover" on page 33.
5. Locate the connector on the currently installed system board into which the light path panel will be
installed. See 7 in Figure 2 on page 12 for the location of the light path panel on the system board.
6. For best maneuverability and visibility, orient yourself on the right side of the compute node.
7. Using your right hand, connect the cable (B) on the system board by pressing it in its connector slot
by using your index finger.
8. Align the light path diagnostics panel (A) with its bracket. The blue touchpoint tab faces toward the
back of the compute node.
