v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem is
solved.
v See Chapter 7, "Parts listing for IBM Flex System p270 Compute Node," on page 95 to determine which
components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.
v If an action step is preceded by Trained service technician only, that step must be performed only by a trained
service technician.
Isolation
procedure or
symbolic failing
item
Symptom
FSPSP01
A part vital to a
system function has
been unconfigured.
Review the system
error logs for errors
that have failing
items that are
relevant to each
reason code.
Action
If replacing parts does not resolve the error, perform one of the following
procedures, based on the SRC code that is listed after the FSPSP01
isolation procedure in the failing item list.
If the SRC is B1xxB106
The system has detected that the planars are unconfigured.
1. Replace the system-board and chassis assembly, as described in
"Replacing the system-board and chassis assembly" on page 83.
If the SRC is B1xxB107 or B1xxB108
The system has detected a problem with a clock card.
1. Replace the system-board and chassis assembly, as described in
"Replacing the system-board and chassis assembly" on page 83.
If the SRC is B1xxB10C or B1xxB10D
The system has detected an unconfigured memory controller that is
required for the system to function, or it has detected that there is not
enough memory or that the memory is plugged in incorrectly.
1. Use the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI) to determine
if the memory controller is unconfigured.
Note: To perform this operation, your authority level must be
administrator or authorized service provider.
a. On the ASMI Welcome pane, specify your user ID and password, and
click Log In.
b. In the navigation area, expand System Service Aids > Deconfiguration
Records.
c. Is the memory controller unconfigured?
v Yes: Contact your next level of support.
v No: Continue with the next step.
2. Ensure the memory is plugged correctly. See "Supported DIMMs" on
page 48. Is the memory plugged correctly?
v Yes: Go to step 4.
v No: Correct the memory plugging problem and continue with the next
step.
3. Install the compute node into the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis
and restart the compute node to verify whether the problem is solved.
Does the problem persist?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: This ends the procedure.
