v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem is
solved.
v See Chapter 7, "Parts listing for IBM Flex System p270 Compute Node," on page 95 to determine which
components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.
v If an action step is preceded by Trained service technician only, that step must be performed only by a trained
service technician.

Symptom
FSPSP53
A network error
occurred between the
service processor and
the network switch
that is on the
compute node.
FSPSP54
A processor
over-temperature
was detected. Check
for environmental
problems before
replacing any parts.
FSPSP84
A problem has been
detected in the
connection with the
IBM Chassis
Management Module
(CMM).

Action
2. See "Removing a DIMM" on page 44 for location information and the
removal procedure.
3. Install new memory DIMMs, as described in "Installing a DIMM" on
page 47.
Replace the system-board and chassis assembly, as described in
"Replacing the system-board and chassis assembly" on page 83.
1. Measure the ambient room temperature to see if it is within the upper
limit of the normal operating range. The upper limit is less than 35 C
or 95 F. If the temperature exceeds this limit, you must lower the
room temperature until it is within the limit. When the temperature is
within range, retry the operation.
2. If the temperature is within the acceptable range, check the front and
rear of the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis to verify that both
areas are free of obstructions that impede the airflow. If there are
obstructions, you must clear the obstructions. Also, clean the air inlets
and exits in the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis drawer as
required. If you cleared obstructions, retry the operation.
3. Verify that the fans in the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis are
working correctly. If they are not, replace fans that are not turning or
that are turning slowly. If you replace fans, wait for the unit to cool
and retry the operation.
4. If the cooling components are functioning correctly, replace the
system-board and chassis assembly, as described in "Replacing the
system-board and chassis assembly" on page 83.
If the reference code is B1818BC1, the service processor was reset but the
problem was not resolved. The service processor is no longer accessible.
Perform the following actions one at a time until the problem is resolved:
1. Reseat the compute node.
2. Move the compute node to a different location in the chassis.
3. Perform a firmware update. See "Updating the firmware" on page 16.
If these actions do not resolve the problem, contact your next level of
support.
If the reference code is B1818BC2, the service processor was reset, which
should resolve the problem. If problems persist, perform a firmware
update. See "Updating the firmware" on page 16. If that does not resolve
the problem, contact your next level of support.
