v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem is
solved.
v See Chapter 7, "Parts listing for IBM Flex System p270 Compute Node," on page 95 to determine which
components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.
v If an action step is preceded by Trained service technician only, that step must be performed only by a trained
service technician.
Isolation
procedure or
symbolic failing
item
Symptom
FSPSP28
The resource ID of
the failing item
could not be found
in the vital product
data (VPD) table.
FSPSP29
The system has
detected that all I/O
bridges are missing
from the system
configuration.
FSPSP30
A problem has been
encountered
accessing the
management card or
the vital product
data (VPD) found on
the management
card has been
corrupted.
This error occurred
before the VPD
collection was
completed, so no
location codes have
been created.
FSPSP31
The service processor
has detected that one
or more of the
required fields in the
system VPD has not
initialized.
Action
1. Find another item in the failing item list that reads "FSPxxxx" where
xxxx is a 4-digit hexadecimal number that represents the resource ID.
Record the resource ID and the model of the system.
2. Contact your next level of support to find out which failing item the
resource ID represents.
3. Replace the failing item that the resource ID represents.
Replace the system-board and chassis assembly, as described in
"Replacing the system-board and chassis assembly" on page 83.
1. Replace the management card, as described in "Removing the
management card" on page 58 and "Installing the management card"
on page 60.
2. After replacing the card and installing the compute node in the chassis
unit and before rebooting the compute node or performing other
operations, ensure that the initialization of the VPD on the
management card occurs by waiting for the management module to
discover the compute node. Otherwise, the system might fail to
perform an initial program load (IPL).
3. If the problem persists, replace the system-board and chassis assembly,
as described in "Replacing the system-board and chassis assembly" on
page 83.
This procedure must be performed by an authorized service provider and
requires a celogin user ID. If you are not an authorized service provider,
contact your next level of support.
1. Access the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI). Expand
System Configuration > Program Vital Product Data. Set the system
VPD values as required. This action automatically resets the service
processor.
2. Power on the compute node, as described in "Turning on the compute
node" on page 10.
