Light path diagnostics LEDs

Use the descriptions of the LEDs to diagnose the problem and to take corrective action.
Table 18 describes the LEDs on the system board and the suggested actions for correcting any detected
problems.
Table 18. Light path diagnostic LED information for the IBM Flex System p270 Compute Node
v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem is
solved.
v See Chapter 7, "Parts listing for IBM Flex System p270 Compute Node," on page 95 to determine which
components are CRUs and which components are FRUs.
v If an action step is preceded by Trained service technician only, that step must be performed only by a trained
service technician.

Action
An error occurred that is not represented by a
light path diagnostics LED. Check the event
log for information about the error.
Replace the battery, as described in "Removing
the battery" on page 56 and "Installing the
battery" on page 56.
1. Verify that the DIMM indicated by the lit
LED is a supported memory module, as
described on the ServerProven website.
2. Replace the DIMM indicated by the lit
LED, as described in "Removing a DIMM"
on page 44 and "Installing a DIMM" on
page 47.
Note: Multiple DIMM LEDs do not
necessarily indicate multiple DIMM failures. If
more than one DIMM LED is lit, replace one
DIMM at a time until the error goes away.
Replace the disk drive or solid-state drive. See
"Removing a SAS hard disk drive" on page 36
or "Removing a SATA solid-state drive" on
page 42.
Replace the solid-state drive. See "Removing a
SATA solid-state drive" on page 42.
