Geoid Models

Overview
For use on the receiver in the field, geoid field files are created from the geoid model.
The geoid separations in a geoid field file may be used in the field to change between ellip-
soidal and orthometric heights.
Creation: In LGO with export onto a CompactFlash card or the internal memory of the
receiver.
Extension: *.gem
Geoid models can be created on the receiver in one of three ways:
1.
Geoid field file on the
CompactFlash card
Here the geoid field file is stored on a CompactFlash card and can be used when
the CompactFlash card is inserted in the receiver. It is recommended for large geoid
field files. This method is explained in this chapter.
