INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID A CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO

POWER SUPPLY
Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Disconnect the couple component connector.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position
(engine off).
Measure the voltage at couple component
(wiring harness-side) terminal O.
Is there 0 V at the TCM wiring harness-side
connector terminals?
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0974 COMPLETED

Make sure to reconnect all the disconnected
connectors.
Clear the DTC from the memory using the M-
MDS.
Drive the vehicle in D range and make sure
that gears shift smoothly from 1GR to 6GR.
Is same DTC present?
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE

Perform the "After Repair Procedure".

Are any DTCs present?

YesRepair or replace the wiring harness (TCM—couple component)
YesReplace the TCM, then go to the next step.
YesGo to the applicable DTC inspection.
