Description
The current local time is shown at every update.
NTP provides a way for the access point to obtain and maintain its time from a server on the network.
Using an NTP server gives your AP the ability to provide the correct time of day in log messages and
session information.
For more information on NTP, see
Choose to either enable or disable the use of a network time protocol (NTP) server:
• To enable the NTP server, click Enabled.
• To disable the NTP server, click Disabled.
If NTP is enabled, select the NTP server you want to use.
You can specify the NTP server by host name or IP address, although using the IP address is not
recommended as these can change more readily.
A list of time zones (for instance, "EST (-05:00)") is presented on the drop-down list, along with the
choice of setting your own customized value. If Custom is selected, two textboxes appear next to the
select box, where you may enter your choice of abbreviation and offset from UTC. Custom offset
from UTC is given as hours and minutes east of UTC. For instance, -0800 is eight hours west of UTC
(i.e. Pacific Standard Time), while +0930 is nine hours, thirty minutes east (i.e. Australian Central
Standard Time).
Daylight Saving Time adjustments are not available.
