Models with automatic transmission
For safety reasons, the transmission has
an electric park (P) lock so that the key
must be in the ignition (in the ON position)
before the T-bar can be moved away from
the 'P' position.
If the vehicle's battery is flat the T-bar
cannot be moved as required for towing.
Therefore, to move the gear lever:
1. Apply the park brake.
2. Disengage the gear lever trim from the
console and rotate it anticlockwise.
3. Push the catch forward and move the
gear lever handle out of the P position,
as illustrated.
4. Install the gear lever trim onto the centre
console.
5. Install the cover onto the console.
Note: Moving the gear lever back to the
P position will re-lock the lever.
Towing another vehicle with your
vehicle
The rear towing eye is located under the
rear, right-hand side of the vehicle.
1. Attach a tow rope to the rear towing eye,
never to the rear axle.
2. Drive off slowly and avoid jerky
movements.
