WEEKLY CHECKS
WASHER FLUID LEVEL AND BATTERY
Washer fluid level
As the washer fluid is constantly used the
level should be checked weekly and topped
up as required.
The washer container is for both the
windscreen and tailgate washers (if fitted).
The washer container is located under the
bonnet on the driver's side, beside the
brake master cylinder.
To fill, open the flip top cap.
For a crystal clear windscreen, add a small
amount of windscreen cleaner. Refer to
Chapter 11. Do not use ordinary soap or
detergent. These not only froth up but will
also damage the wiper rubbers and may
also block the washer jets.
Remember to secure the cap after filling.
Battery
Your vehicle is fitted with a maintenance
free battery, which means that the fluid
level does not need to be checked.
When replacing the battery, you should
always replace it with another maintenance
free battery of the correct specifications.
Refer to Chapter 8.
Note: You should never disconnect the
battery when the engine is running.
If removing the battery for recharging, first
disconnect the negative cable, then the
positive cable. Never charge the battery
while still connected to the vehicle. When
reconnecting, first connect the positive
cable to the positive post of the battery,
then the negative cable to the negative
post of the battery.
