DRIVING
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (if fitted)
Gear lever selector position
indicator
When the ignition is on, the current gear
lever position is displayed on the instrument
panel below the tachometer. The engine
will not start unless the gear lever selector
is in P or N.
To move the gear lever out of the P position,
switch on the ignition, press the brake
pedal and raise the gear selection release
button (under the gear lever, as illustrated).
Raise the release button
when shifting into any
position indicated by a black
arrow.
You can select any gear
position marked by the
outline arrow without raising
the release button.
Sports / economy drive
Press the button on top of the gear lever to
switch between sports and economy drive
programmes.
When the sports programme (higher
engine speeds) is selected the indicator
light on the instrument panel will be
illuminated.
Note: After the engine has initially been
started and Drive selected, the economy
programme is automatically selected.
