Lap-sash belts
To put on a lap-sash seat belt, pull the
metal tongue across your body and clip it
into the buckle. When the metal tongue
has locked safely into place you will hear a
click. After fastening, settle the belt at the
hip, then tension the belt by tugging the
sash upward. Any extra belt length will
retract automatically.
The lap section should be worn as low as
possible on your hips, not on your waist.
Make sure the sash and lap sections of the
seat belt are free from twists and fits firmly.
The emergency-locking retractor allows
you to move freely while the vehicle is
travelling normally. The belt will lock
immediately on fast braking, impact with a
solid object or any quick movement by the
wearer.
To undo the belt, press the release button
on the buckle and allow the belt to retract.
Check that it fully retracts without twisting
or turning.
Seat belt pretensioners
The front seat belt system incorporates
(once-only) seat belt pretensioners. In the
event of a moderate or severe front-on or
rear-end collision, the belt buckles are
pulled downwards, instantaneously
tightening the diagonal and lap belts.
If the seat belt pretensioners have been
actuated, the control indicator v
illuminates. Actuation may also be
indicated by yellow tabs appearing on the
belt buckles. If the belt pretensioners have
been activated, they must be replaced by
a Holden Retailer. The seat belts remain
operational
even
pretensioners have been actuated.
