7. Depressions on the lower edge of the
vehicle underbody indicate the points
where the jack is to be placed.
SIDE-SKIRT BODY TRIM
If your vehicle has side-skirt body trim
fitted, side skirt cutouts are situated
near the jacking points to provide
adequate clearance for jack operation.
8. The jacking points may be concealed
by covers. Remove the jacking point
covers, as necessary.
WARNING:
Failure to position the jack as
described above could result in
serious personal injury or vehicle
damage caused by the vehicle
slipping off the jack.
9. Position the jack in the underbody
depression that is nearest the flat tyre.
Ensure that the centre of the jack claw
is in line with the half circle cutout in the
underbody and that the jack base is in
line with the claw. Refer to Chapter 6,
Emergencies, for jacking precautions.
