Chapter 1 DASHBOARD TILT STEERING AND HORN Tilt steering (if fitted) The lock lever is located directly beneath the ignition lock. Move the lock lever downwards. Grasp the steering wheel and move as required. It can be moved up or down. When in position, move the lock lever back up as far as it will go.

Chapter 1 DASHBOARD GAUGES Speedometer The speedometer indicates vehicle speed in kilometres per hour. Odometer / tripmeter / service reminder A small window in the speedometer is used for the odometer, the tripmeter, and the service reminder. The odometer and the tripmeter can be made to appear for a few seconds when the ignition is OFF by pressing the reset knob.

If the temperature dial is moved away from extreme cold, the air will then be reheated before entering the cabin. The air conditioner is switched on by pushing the button with the snowflake symbol. Chapter 2 LOCKS ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS Emergency – flat battery Unlocking and locking the driver's door in the event of malfunction of the central locking system (e.g. if the car's battery is flat). Chapter 2 LOCKS THE REMOTE CONTROL The remote control • The remote control is powered by a battery inside the key head. A weakening battery is indicated by a progressive "loss of range", which means you must be closer to the car when pressing the key.

Chapter 2 LOCKS TAILGATE The central locking system cannot be switched on or off from the tailgate lock. Provided that the key slot is horizontal, the tailgate will lock/unlock when the doors are locked/unlocked. Chapter 6 EMERGENCIES ACCIDENTS All motorists are advised to learn what to do at the scene of an accident, particularly where persons are injured. Injured people can choke to death if their air passages are not cleared. They can bleed to death unless the bleeding is stopped. They may require mouth-to-mouth resuscitation or may have to be moved, even though badly injured.

Chapter 6 6-10 EMERGENCIES ENGINE OVERHEATING CAUTION: Immediate action is required if the engine overheats. This can be indicated by the temperature gauge needle moving to the red zone, by steam escaping from under the bonnet, a loss of power or a loud knocking or pinging noise. Continued driving EVEN FOR A SHORT TIME could cause a fire or car damage.

If the surge tank is low a leak is indicated. Therefore you should see your Holden Dealer as soon as possible to fix the leak. The engine may temporarily operate at high temperatures during more demanding operating conditions, especially on very hot days.

Chapter 6 6-12 EMERGENCIES FLAT BATTERY CAUTION: DO NOT attempt to "push start" this car, as it is fitted with a catalytic converter and if un-combusted fuel were to reach the catalytic converter and ignite, the converter could overheat or be destroyed by backfire. If your car will not start due to a flat battery, it can often be started by using energy from a battery in another car - a procedure called "jump starting".
