TOW AND LOAD
Overloading is a safety hazard and could also shorten the life of your vehicle or its parts.
Carrying capacity
The recommended carrying capacity including occupants and luggage is:
463 kg Barina 2 door model
451 kg Barina 4 door model
408 kg Barina SRi model
745 kg Combo model (provided the load is distributed towards the front axle).
If you load your vehicle other than to the above recommendations or have accessories
fitted, then you should ensure that the MAXIMUM REAR AXLE LOAD and the GROSS
VEHICLE MASS are not exceeded.
Kerb weight
The kerb weights shown below are for the weight of an unloaded vehicle with a full
tank of fuel.
BARINA
1062 kg = kerb weight for 2 door model, manual transmission
1147 kg = kerb weight for 2 door SRi model, manual transmission
1082 kg = kerb weight for 2 door model, automatic transmission
1099 kg = kerb weight for 4 door model, manual transmission
1119 kg = kerb weight for 4 door model, automatic transmission
Subtract 25 kg if the vehicle is not fitted with air conditioning.
COMBO
1200 kg = kerb weight for 2 door model, manual transmission
1170 kg = vehicle not fitted with air conditioning.
Gross Vehicle Mass (weight)
The Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) is the maximum that a vehicle is allowed to weigh
when fully loaded. This must include any luggage, passengers, roof rack load and
a full tank of fuel. The maximum, allowable weight for your vehicle is:
1525 kg = GVM for 2 door models with manual transmission
1550 kg = GVM for 4 door models with manual transmission
1545 kg = GVM for 2 door models with automatic transmission
1570 kg = GVM for 4 door models with automatic transmission
1555 kg = GVM for 2 door SRi model (manual transmission)
1945 kg = GVM for Combo model (manual transmission)
If not fitted with air conditioning, subtract 25 kg (Combo, subtract 30 kg).
Maximum rear axle load
The maximum allowable rear axle load for your vehicle is:
760 kg = Barina
1110 kg = Combo.
