LOCKS
The remote control
The remote control is powered by a
battery inside the key head. A weakening
battery is indicated by a progressive
'loss of range' (you must be closer to the
vehicle when pressing the key).
Tinting the vehicle's windows reduces
the range of the key if the tinting material
has a metallic film.
Treat the remote with care; it should be
protected against moisture and should
not be operated unnecessarily.
When the system is operating, the
hazard warning lights on the vehicle
flash briefly.
Remote control troubleshooting
If the central locking system cannot be
operated with the remote control, this may
be due to one of the following reasons:
The range of the remote control has
been exceeded. Move closer to the
vehicle.
The battery voltage of the remote control
unit is too low. Change the battery as
detailed on the following page.
The remote control has been operated
too many times in succession outside
the vehicle's normal remote operating
range. Resynchronise the remote
control as detailed on the following
page.
Overload of the central locking system has occurred as a result of repeated
operation at short intervals. The power supply will be cut off for approximately 30
seconds.
Interference from higher powered radio waves from other sources may affect the
operation of the central locking system. Open the vehicle by turning the key in the
lock.
