386 Lifting Arms
The speed of the gripper must be fast enough so that the latter does not come in contact with the

: Limiting the stroke of the spools is limiting the amount of oil (flow) going through them.

Controlling the oil flow means controlling the arm/gripper speed.
Adjusting Pressure on the Gripper Cylinder Holding Valve
The gripper cylinder holding valve (see Figure 10-10) is used to prevent the gripper from closing
unexpectedly. An adjustable cartridge is directly mounted on the cylinder.
To adjust the gripper holding valve pressure:
1.
Apply all safety measures to ensure safety around the vehicle at all times.
2.
Make sure that the parking brake is applied.
3.
Locate the gripper holding valve (see Figure 10-10).
4.
Connect a pressure gauge to the arm valve quick coupler (see Figure 10-11).

5.
Start the engine and engage the hydraulic pump.
