Network menu
Menu items*
TCP/IP
enables TCP/IP data transfer.
IP-Address
indicates IP addresses. The value in each
field of an IP address must be a number
between o and 255. This item is only
displayed if TCP/IP is set to "On".
Subnet Mask
indicates a number that is used in
combination with the IP address to identify
your network. The value in each field of an
IP address must be a number between o
and 255. The decimal value of a subnet
mask is always an even number (2
binary system is used for the definition.
Standard Gateway
makes it possible to connect two otherwise
incompatible networks.
NetWare
enables IPX/SPX data transfer
NetWare Frame
specifies the NetWare frame type. If the
setting is "Auto", the type is changed
automatically.
AppleTalk
enables AppleTalk data transfer
I/O timeout
indicates how many seconds the printer has
to detect whether a print job has finished or
not.
An I/O timeout occurs if the printer cannot
recognize the end data code of a print job
sent from a computer.
If an I/O timeout occurs with a PCL setting
active, all data still in the printer will be sent
to output and the printer returns to "Ready"
status
If an I/O timeout occurs with a PS setting
active, all data still in the printer will be
deleted and the printer will return to "Ready"
status.
* The menu only appears is an optional network interface card is installed in the printer.
If you have made changes to settings in the network menu, you must
restart the printer for these changes to take effect.
