Connecting the printer (local connection)

1 Turn the printer and the computer
off.
Connect one end of the interface

cable to the parallel connection of
your computer.
3 Connect the other end of the
interface cable to the parallel
connection of the printer.
4 Fasten the connector in place with
the screws on the connection
socket.
For the technical specification of the cable, see page 10-4.
CAUTION
Using the wrong type of cable can result in damage to the machine!
The wrong type of cable may damage the printer's connection socket.
➜ Use only shielded interface cable of type IEEE 1284, Type B to
connect your printer to the computer.
