General print problems

Problem
No output
Paper is not drawn
in correctly.
The printout has
shifted on the
paper.

Recognizing and eliminating problems
Possible cause
The printer is not connected to
the power supply, or the cord is
not connected to the printer.
The printer is not turned on
You are using the wrong
interface cable type.
The connection settings were
not made correctly for your
printer.
The paper feed roller is
damaged.
The paper feed roller is worn out.
The offset settings of the tray
from which the paper was drawn
in are not correct.

Action to take
Check the power connection and
the interface connection of the
printer.
Turn the printer on.
Check whether the interface
cable type conforms to the
specifications, see page 10-4.
Check the connection settings of
the printer.
Remove the paper feed roller
and check it over for damage. If
necessary, replace it with a new
paper feed roller, see page 8-12.
Remove the paper feed roller
and check it for signs of wear. If
necessary, replace it with a new
paper feed roller, see page 8-12.
Correct the settings for "Upper
Offset", see page 6-14 and/or
"Left Offset", see page 6-21.
