Inserting and Ejecting Cleaning Cartridges
This section explains how to insert and eject a cleaning cartridge.
•
A cleaning cartridge can be used only a limited number of times. If a cleaning cartridge in the cleaning
cell has reached its use limit, the cleaning cartridge can no longer be used and the alarm button lights in
the icon area of the operator panel and the Cleaning Tape Limit Alarm is displayed.
If this icon is lit, eject the cleaning cartridge, which is now unusable, and replace it with a new cleaning
cartridge.
•
If loading or ejection is attempted while the backup software is accessing the library, a message is
displayed stating that the library is busy. Retry loading or ejection when the library is no longer busy.
•
The cleaning cell is divided into two areas. One area is exclusively used for the lower robot; the other area
exclusively used for the upper robot. Always insert at least one cleaning cartridge into each of the upper
and lower areas.
•
A cleaning cartridge is for exclusive use in the tape library device being used. Be sure not to use a
cleaning cartridge in the LT270 S2 that was used in another library device.
2.13.1
Inserting a Cleaning Cartridge
A cleaning cartridge is inserted into the cleaning cell.
•
This operation can be performed only if there is an available cleaning cell.
•
If a cleaning cartridge that cannot be inserted is detected, a media error message appears in the
operation result window. Reference the CAS Map information and check the cleaning cartridge status.
