Ejecting Tape Cartridges

This section explains how to eject tape cartridges that are loaded in drives to their home cells.
When an eject operation is performed, the drive goes offline temporarily. When the eject operation is
complete, the drive automatically returns online.
Cartridges can be ejected from the following drives:
Drives containing cartridges from a CAS
Drives containing cartridges from the host
Normally, the tape cartridges from which data has been successfully backed up are ejected to their home
cells by the backup software. However, if host control is disabled for reasons such that a host closed
down, the tape cartridges must be ejected manually.
If ejection is attempted while the backup software is accessing the library, a message is displayed stating
that the library is busy. Retry the ejection when the library is no longer busy.
