Description
The command cannot be
completed because the tape
drive does not contain a
cartridge.
The command cannot be
completed because the tape
drive already contains a

The detected tape drive is
incompatible with the

The cartridge couldn't be
loaded into the tape drive
because of a mechanical
problem or because of a
broken tape.
The tape drive took too long
to load or unload a tape, or
the tape drive is not
responding.
The cartridge couldn't be
unloaded from the tape
drive because of a
mechanical problem.

Corrective Action
Do one of the following:
ƒ Load a cartridge in the tape drive and retry the
operation.
ƒ If there are two tape drives installed in the
library, select a tape drive that contains a
cartridge and retry the operation.
Do one of the following:
ƒ Unload the data cartridge, and then retry the
operation. See "Unloading a Cartridge from a
Tape Drive" on page 127.
ƒ Wait until the current cartridge is unloaded by
the application, and then retry the operation.
ƒ If the library contains two tape drives, retry the
operation on the second tape drive.
The library is only compatible with Ultrium 4
(LTO-4), Ultrium 3 (LTO-3), or Ultrium 2 (LTO-2)
tape drives. Ensure that you have one of these
tape drives installed in the library.
1. Export the tape from the library (see
page 122) and verify that it is in good
condition, and then retry the operation.
Replace the cartridge if necessary.
2. If the error persists, contact Technical Support
(see page iii) or your service provider.
